I’m looking for a good book on the fundamentals of product design. Do you have a recommendation? I’m just getting started and notice in your videos how you think through the foundational elements of design and employ essential elements like fillets and chamfers. My goal is to be able to design simple structures like enclosures and simple tools, and I just want the basic conceptual tools for understanding how to think about mechanical design.
Thank you!

Hi Shannon. That’s a great question!
I’ll have to add some books to this list.
Some of my favorite design and manufacturing books:
1. Design of Everyday Things: Amazon
2. Making It (3rd Edition): Amazon
3. The Art of Innovation: Amazon
The second book has a lot of great insight into manufacturing and thinking about products. That may help carry over to considering design aspects when 3D modeling in Fusion 360. The other two are more about psychology and thinking about the end user. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Kevin
