THE CHALLENGE
This year is just asking to be brightened up with unique and personalized gifts for someone special in your life. Design a unique holiday gift (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, and more) and you could win a 3D printer or other prizes.
Consider how 3D printing can be used to make one-of-a-kind gifts that spark joy. Something that fulfills a unique need or simply an object you know they will enjoy. Entries will be voted on by their creativity, uniqueness, and their story behind them.
*your entry does not need to be 3D printed but should consider the limitations of any 3D printing type

CHALLENGE PERIOD
Submissions will be accepted until Monday, December 21st, 2020 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
There is no limit to the number of entries per contestant. To enter you need to upload your 3D designs to Thangs.com with the hashtag #gift in the model’s description. Include at least a sentence or two explaining your design.
JURY
Kevin along with the Thangs team and some Fusion 360 team members will vote and select the 7 winners. Winners will be announced on Monday, December, 28th, 2020 via this page and on Kevin’s Discord and Facebook page.

Who is the challenge for?
The challenge is open to everyone with access to 3D modeling software – it doesn’t have to be Fusion 360. You are welcome to share the challenge with your School, Makerspace, or other organization. Make it a friendly competition and challenge your friend!
Where can I ask for help?
Join the PDO community on Discord and use the #3d_modeling_challenge channel. Ask your questions, share progress, bounce ideas around, or simply stop by and say hello!
Does it cost anything to enter?
Nope! You can use any free modeling software. Solutions are uploaded to Thangs.com, which is also completely free. No payment is required to be eligible to win the 3D printer or other prizes.
Where do I submit my design?
All submissions should be uploaded to Thangs.com with hashtag #gift in the model’s description. This is required so Kevin can see all the submissions.
How much time do I need to allocate for the challenge?
Spend 15 minutes or several hours – This is up to you! You can submit one small project, multiple projects, or one time-intensive project.
Are there prizes to be won?
Yes! There are 5 prizes. 1 grand prize winner will get an Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer. Second and 3rd place will get a $50 Amazon gift card. Fourth and Fifth place will get a Thangs T-shirt.
The winners will be required to provide a valid email and/or shipping address within 14 days of the announcement on December 28th, 2020.
Do I need a 3D printer?
You’re encouraged to 3D print your design and share it with the community, but it is not required to win.

Do you only need the design of my project ?
Hi Amani,
That’s correct – you only need to upload an STL or STEP file of your design. It is not required that you 3D print it.
