In January of 2024, Autodesk, Inc. quietly started rebranding their Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM product as ‘Autodesk Fusion,’ officially dropping the ‘360’ from the name.
This rebranding coincides with a new pricing and packaging structure (announced in November 2023) that affects all Autodesk Fusion Commercial license holders.
Important: These changes do not affect those on the free Personal Use license.
Who does this affect?
- Autodesk Fusion Personal Use License: You’ll notice branding updates, but no functionality or access changes will be made to the ‘Hobbyist’ Personal Use license. No action is required.
If you need some of the commercial functionality, you may want to subscribe to the special renewal price offer before Jan 30, 2024. If you choose annual, you’ll lock in the price until 2027. - Autodesk Fusion Startup License: Effective November 14, 2023, Autodesk announced they are ending the free ‘Fusion 360’ Startup license option and changing some of the eligibility criteria. The Autodesk Fusion startup license is now $150/year.
Note: Current startup license holders received an exclusive, limited-time offer that exempts them from the new eligibility criteria. - Autodesk Fusion Education License: You’ll see branding updates, but the experience remains unchanged. No action is required.
New extension functionality will be automatically reflected in your Autodesk Account. You’ll have access on November 14, 2023. - Autodesk Fusion Commercial License: Fusion pricing changed, effective January 30th, 2024. See below for additional details.
Note: Current license holders do not need to complete anything unless they want to purchase additional discounted license seats.
Autodesk Fusion 360 Becomes Autodesk Fusion
The branding changes do not affect any functionality of Autodesk Fusion. You’ll notice visuals, including the app icon, splash screen, Sign-in screen, and in-product naming have been updated to reflect the new ‘Autodesk Fusion’ name.
