Challenge Overview
Design a set of over-ear headphones or earbuds. Think about what type of headphones are useful in different environments. Are over-ear headphones better suited in one scenario but not another? Are earbuds better suited in one scenario over another?
Consider adding features to the headphones to better improve the user experience. Should the headphones have/be:
- wired vs wireless
- noise-canceling
- water-resistant
- voice assistance
- bone conduction
- microphones
- what else?
Headphones for different areas of life:
- for work
- for sports or fitness
- for travel
- for entertainment
- for audiophiles
- for gaming
- for kids
Challenge A (Beginner)
The beginner challenge is meant for people with less than 6 months of Fusion 360 experience. Practice using the sculpt environment and re-create an earbud following this tutorial – https://youtu.be/dbJcnxWHneo or recreate over-ear headphones sculpting these headphones – https://youtu.be/wto1a9ncJtk
Challenge B (Moderate)
Create your own unique headphones or recreate a design you find on the internet. Consider using the sculpt environment and t-spline techniques to make your earbud or over-ear headphones. Be creative and don’t let the traditional headphone design hold you back from creating something new.
Challenge C (Advanced)
Render your headphones in Fusion 360’s user Render WorkspaceGenerates realistic renderings of the design. Apply materials, scenery, and lighting.. Add materials and textures to each part of the headphone.
Consider how the composition or layout of the render best displays the headphone’s unique features. You may also want to display the headphones on a stand or lay them on a table so they don’t appear as they are floating in space.
